Hi,
My one and only Humapoen has just broken and I will have to see the Dr tomorrow for a replacement, how long that will take I don't know. What I want to ask is if there is anything I could do to prevent my BG going too high, with maybe increasing my BI dosage?
I use Levermir.

I guess you will have got a replacement Humapen by now and are in the process off sorting your BG levels out. You should really have a backup Humapen and a backup pen for your Levemir. I have a backup BG meter as well and also a second finger pricker "just in case".

Levemir should be able to be used in the way that you suggest, but you would want to do some frequent testing to check that your BGLs didn't go too high or too low. If they get too high, get to a hospital immediately and they should be able to sort out a disposable pen of QA for you in the interim.
