Best worldwide travel insurance for type 1 diabetics

Hi

I am a type 1 diabetic who has done DAFNE, has no complications and am about to renew my annual worldwide travel insurance.

I currently have insurance through INSUREANDGO and to be honest have no problems with them but just wanted to know if anyone else has any other companies they would recommend

Has anyone out there had to make a diabetes-related claim on their travel insurance? For example, replacing lost or stolen medication or equipment. For me it's the company's response to a claim that would make it recommendable.

Try Diabetes Uk. I did a 5 week self drive tour of New Zealand in Jan 2014 and found them very reasonable with three levels of cover. No problems with existing ailments and easy to obtain. Have also used Saga and although they are considered to be expensive have found them sometimes cheaper than other sites as they are used to dealing with older people where infirmaties are quite common, so quite happy to cover pre-existing conditions
