Today I got a CGMS monitor fitted.(continuous glucose monitoring system). It was so so painful when inserted . This was at 10am. It's now 8.45pm and I am in real pain where the monitor has been inserted (at the front of my waist). Has anyone else experienced this and will this pain subside? I've to keep it in for 6 days but am on the verge of pulling it out as it's becoming unbearable. Is this normal? Help .

Hi Tracey, I've only worn one once, and it was painless. If the pain doesn't subside, then I'd strongly suggest removing it and trying a different site.

I wear a pump and this process and insertion is similar and it shouldn't hurt...........

If it gets unbearable then you should get it taken out.......

it will need to go back in of course, so speak out if it hurts again........Smile
